NOT GHETTO MESS

BET's provocatively titled "Hot Ghetto Mess," which drew sharp criticism and overshadowed the rest of the cable channel's new schedule, is getting an upbeat new name.

"We Got to Do Better" is the title the series will have when it debuts Wednesday, BET spokeswoman Jeanine Liburd told The Associated Press on Monday.

"We've decided to change the name because we want to highlight the show's real intent, which is to offer social commentary in a context that sparks dialogue, debate, and most importantly, change," BET said in a statement.

Ok, If some of you read my post regarding this the other day, you know I was ready to throw this show under the bus! I broke down and watched BET and found this program to be anything but ghetto. It shows what people black & white don't know.
For instance, when asking several people on the street "when did slavery end" some didn't know, others answered 1700 er something, one fool even said 1920!!! This is the "mess" this show speaks of. Not only did Americans not know when slavery ended ( 1865 if your interested) but they did not know what the acronym NAACP stands for and some silly white girls truly believed that JAY-Z has more money than Bill Gates.
I am glad that BET is finally trying to clean it's image up and bring quality programming to its airwaves. I'm extremely glad the original title "HOT Ghetto Mess" was changed as this show does not reflect that horrid website.

Maybe Reg Hudlin is on to something....

Genial comic Drew Carey was tapped Monday to replace silver-haired legend Bob Barker on the CBS daytime game show "The Price is Right."
Carey, 49, spent a decade on his own ABC sitcom and also was host of the game show "Whose Line is It Anyway?," a comic improvisational show.


I think I like this choice, I'm quite relieved that they didn't pick Rosie. She livend up the View a bit ( a corpse could liven up that show) But she's lost her "queen of nice" appeal. Plus "The Drew Carey Show" was one of my favs.

WHOOPIE ON THE VIEW

According to Star Magazine Whoopi Goldberg will be Rosie O'Donnell's replace on The View this Fall. They say their source claims it's 99% confirmed. Whoopi lives in NYC, has her own radio talk show and has guested on the show several times. She apparently beat out Kathy Griffin, Roseanne Barr, Gayle King and Ricki Lake. A network source says that they were close to taking Kathy, but Whoopi won them over.


Although I do love Roseanne ( one of the best tv shows ever) I am glad they did choose a sista, you can't be the view with out all perspectives (They also need a
latina). Hopefull Whoopie won't be too boring (have u heard her satellite show...snoooze) and will give Hasslewreck a nice verbal beatdown. I'm so glad they passed on Kathy Griffin, she is funny for about 10 minutes then she just gets annoying. I still think this show is garbage, but if it's going to continue to pollute the airwaves....bring on Whoopie
